Logline: When an ancestral tradition heavily depends on a primary person, preservation becomes both an act of love and a quiet burden, left with uncertainty of the future.

Synopsis: In the quiet rhythm of Peñarrubia, Abra, Luis Agaid Jr. works with hands stained by the deep indigo of his ancestors, carrying the weight and legacy of a heritage that is at risk of colors fading. Sakbay A Kumupas (Before it Fades) is an intimate portrait of a cultural master caught between the vibrant beauty of the Agkulol (natural dyeing) tradition and the uncertainty of a future to this tradition and his legacy. As he painstakingly extracts colors from Abra to breathe life into Itneg-Tingguian textiles, the film captures his private struggle: a master craftsman racing against time to ensure that the soul of his people doesn’t wash away. It is a story of resilience and the quiet, heavy ache of being one of the last keepers of a dying flame.
