Piling Obrang Vidyo is an event organized by the members of UP Cinema.
Since 2004, POV has been home for a lot of student
filmmakers to declare and claim their voice and space in the field of
audio-visual storytelling. Apart from exhibiting their films on the big
screen, the works of the finalists would be critiqued and awarded by a
roster of esteemed individuals in the Philippine film industry.
For its 19th year, POV is now bigger than ever as it turns into a
hybrid event. With the easing of pandemic-related restrictions, POV XIX
is bringing the annual film festival competition back home, at UPFI Film
Center's Cine Adarna. Along with the onground screening, POV XIX will
also stream the finalist short films online for free. For the first time
ever, POV will also be opening its doors not only to college students,
but also to senior high school students to further amplify the voice of
the youth. Bringing back the genres of narrative, experimental, and
documentary, POV XIX hopes to widen the people's appreciation for
different kinds of filmmaking.
