Logline: A young woman finds herself in a strange inescapable room as she seeks refuge when chaos erupts in the streets.
Synopsis: Set in the contemporary Philippines, “Andito Ka, Kasama” tells the story of Diwa, a young student journalist, who finds herself amidst a tense protest and seeks refuge with her fellow protesters when it begins to grow into a violent one. Desperate to escape arrest, Diwa hides into an old bodega nearby, along with other protesters. As she tries to take cover, suddenly, she disappears ...


Ashby Lavigne
Ashby Lavigne is a 21-year-old student-filmmaker studying BA Communication at Far Eastern University-Manila. She advocates for social justice, with the narratives she creates mostly centered around societal conflicts. Her debut short film, “Andito Ka, Kasama,” discusses class struggle and the structural hierarchy in the Philippines. It was nominated for multiple awards in the Likhang Mulat VII: FEU Film Movements Festival and won the Special Jury Prize. She believes that filmmaking has the power to immortalize the stories of the marginalized and in this way she holds regard for her voice as a filmmaker.
