Synopsis: Amar, a 17-year-old balut vendor, spends his nights selling at wakes filled with gambling, gossip, and cigarette smoke, all to save money to return to school. While selling balut and pugo to Bulak, a familiar face at the wakes, he hears warnings about a feared local folklore—the amaranhig, resurrected corpses similar to the Western concept of zombies.
